Dr. Annabella Bassler

president of the board

Dr. Annabella Bassler is the president of the board of directors at Ringier Axel Springer Polska Group and has been CFO of Ringier AG since 2012. She has held various positions in finance and was responsible for Ringier's activities in Romania until 2021. Annabella Bassler is a member of several boards of directors and is driving the digital transformation of the Ringier Group, focusing on strategy, M&A activities and financial management. She has launched the Ringier EqualVoice initiative in 2019, aiming to promote gender equality in media coverage. She completed her business studies at the European Business School and holds a doctorate.

Marc Walder

Marc Walder serves as the vice president of the board of directors at Grupa Ringier Axel Springer Polska. He has also been the chairman of the group executive board of Ringier AG since 2012. Marc Walder is a member of several boards of directors and is the founder of digitalswitzerland, an initiative aiming to strengthen Switzerland as a global leader in digital innovation. In 2019, he was awarded the honorary prize "Digital Economy Ambassador". Under his leadership, Ringier AG has pursued diversification and digitalisation. He has been working in the media industry since 1996 in various countries including Germany, France, and the UK. Mark Dekan is a member of the board of directors at Grupa Ringier Axel Springer Polska. As the COO of POLITICO Media Group, he is responsible for the group's international growth. Until 2022, Dekan led Ringier Axel Springer Media, the largest digital media company in CEE. With the sale of all non- Polish activities by Axel Springer to Ringier, he took charge of the Ringier Axel Springer Poland Group. Before his appointment as CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG in 2013, Dekan was the CFO responsible for establishing and managing the finance function of the Group. He has extensive experience in the media business and has worked in leadership positions in various markets.

Dmitry Shishkin

Dmitry Shishkin is a member of the board of directors of Ringier Axel Springer Polska Group, and CEO Ringier Media International. Shishkin is an expert in digital innovation in media and content strategy. He describes himself as an "evangelist and enforcer" of a news user needs approach in publishing. In his last role at BBC News, Shishkin developed and implemented the BBC's digital editorial strategy for 41 non-English foreign language news services, launching 12 new teams in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Shishkin's main area of expertise is the intersection of Editorial, Organizational, Strategy, Data, and Product disciplines—how they all fit together to benefit audiences. He is a member of the World Editors Forum (WAN-IFRA) as well as a Leader in Residence at UCLAN, and a mentor at the Journalism Innovation and Leadership programme.

Stefan Benkert is a director at Ringier Axel Springer Polska Group, with extensive experience in finance and management. Since December 2020, he has been the Head of Finance Marketplaces International at Ringier AG. Previously, he was the CEO of CreditGate24 for nearly three years. He also served as vice president Finance at LafargeHolcim for a year and a half. He spent 15 years at PwC, gaining experience in M&A strategy, SPA advisory, due diligence, vendor assistance, financial modelling, and more. Stefan Benkert is an experienced professional with a solid background in finance management and transactions.
